Update

My surgeon is very concerned by what is going in so she put me on an emergency list to see if I can get into surgery sooner rather than later. They have changed the date twice. I received a call today telling me my newest date is February.11! That is only increasing my stress and anxiety. I thought I had much more time to prepare my mind but I suppose not :/ oh well I have to trust that this is all apart of Gods plans for me. That He is and will be with me, lifting my fear and anxiety off of me. Tomorrow I seen another specialist for something related. Please pray that the Lord works through them and that we may get past off these obstacles. God bless and have an amazing night!

Fellowship Friday!

Hey everyone! Happy friday! It has been a great week for us! We got awesome news about my mom’s health, reunited with old friends as well as found fellowship with them! It was great! We have known them for five or so years and had no idea. We’d made Christian comments to one another but never came right out with it. Until yesterday! It’s a wonderful feeling! As many of you know I have suffered with PTSD for the last three years. This week’s story is about a US Marine who, after leaving the service due to a series of traumatic brain injuries, found himself suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Jared Heine had a companion while in Afghanistan, Spike a bomb sniffing combat dog. When Jared returned to the United States he was separated from Spike. Jareds mother noticed that when he would talk about Spike his mood would lift. Seeing a way to help Jared, his mother worked through Facebook and the military to try to reunite the two. Spikes current owner agreed to meet. At the time Spike was working with the Virginia capitol police K-9 unit. Paired with officer Laura Taylor, when she seen the reunion she decided that the friends belonged together. I love that society is realizing the severity and seriousness that is PTSD. There are now numerous organizations in North America that are working to help servicemen and women in coping with this disorder. I just love this story! The bonds that people make with animals is glorious! My mama is also a great testament to the power of this bond. My mama has a fear of going outdoors, and had almost given up on herself before she had gotten her dog. It was night and day! She came out of her shell and doesn’t hide herself away very much anymore. I pray you all have a safe and fun weekend! God bless all of you!
You can find this story and many more like it here.

Fellowship Friday

This weeks fellowship friday is going to be a little different. The topic is bullying. In elementary school I was bullied, like for the full 6 years! It was not terrible bullying, not like a lot of children today. It was mainly verbal (sticks and stones right? NOPE!) I guess you could say I got beat up once in the third grade, my friend was being bullied and when I went to stand up for him they pushed me through a fence. My heart hurt much more than my body! This morning I was sitting outside and one of the neighbor girls was walking to school we said good morning, I asked her if she was going to have a better day today, (yesterday when she was walking home from school she was crying, we thought she was but weren’t sure. By the time we realized she really was crying, she was a few doors from her home.) She response made me cry, she said after school yesterday a mean girl beat her up!!!! We are talking about a 3-4th grader at the most! This poor child had to feel those terrible feeling that most of us adults had. Mind you just because we are grown adult that does not make us exempt from bullying. I don’t know how many times I have felt the pains of bullying as an adult. The beautiful part of that though, we have the ability to shake it off! I have a secret love for a few of Taylor Swift’s songs, and Shake it off is my absolute favorite!!! I don’t know if you have heard it or if you have really listened to the words, but oh my goodness!! This morning after talking to neighbor girl this song came on and I cried again! Not because I was sad though, it was because I realized I was a fool! I was having a conversation with David this week and he pretty much said the same thing as the song! It took feeling sad and vulnerable and hearing the message in a song to really appreciate and understand what he was trying to tell me! I like to put up a fake tough front, then go and cry in the corner. Let me re-phrase that I USED to put up a fake front, then go and cry in a corner. Now? I am going to keep my chin up and my focus on God! I am sending prayers of love and healing to any man, woman, and child that may be suffering from the effect of bullying. You are handsome, beautiful, and just the way God intended you to be! God bless all of you have a safe and wonderful God filled weekend! Don’t forget to shake it off!!! 😀

Monster in me

For David. I wrote this quite some time ago and have not posted it. I was visiting with David today and it felt as though God needed him to hear/read it. This is an extremely personal piece, when I wrote this I was just coming out of a very dark period in my life. God bless all of you, have a God filled day!

Monster in me

I look in the mirror and all I see is you. You hide behind my eyes, laying dormant just waiting for your chance to strike. You find my fears and insecurities and feed on every one of them. You get bigger and stronger with each one. With every second guess. With every doubt. You are in your glory every time I let you win. With Him I am stronger than you! I can concur you. You are only as strong as I let you be. I am done with letting you take control of who I am and who I want to be. No longer will I allow you to hold me back, no longer will I allow you the satisfaction of seeing me weak and afraid. You will no longer be able to control my thoughts. I am His and He is mine. With Him you have no power!

A prayer for my big brother

This is something I wrote tonight for my big brother, he is in the hospital awaiting surgery to remove a quite large kidney stone. He also has a kidney infection, so he’s not feeling to hot. 😦 he has always protected me and guided me when I am facing different trials and tests along with his never ending support, regardless of how stupid I am being. He has such strength and wisdom it’s unbelievable. His passion for standing up for the underdog is absolutely astounding! He truly is a beautiful soul! May I ask that you join me in a prayer of healing for him please? May God continue to bless all of you! Thank you ever so much, Pen of the Sheep.

Always standing up before the test
Never backing down or taking a rest
You always stand strong in front the rest
The weak the strong
You do your best
To help those facing their own personal test
Now my big brother you stand before your own test
You always succeed, usually better than the rest

Stand firm and stand strong the way I know you can
The Lord will deliver you the way I know He can

Deliverance will come your way
Rest easy my big brother and it will go away
Troubles do come, but they never stay
This is because of your way
The way you alway stand and stay
Though trouble often looks like Goliath in a way
We all know that like David, you’ll slay them away

My dear big brother
You truly are like no other

Wearing your heart on your sleeve and your passion in your fists. Stay strong. The way we all know you are and slay these giants as you always have! I love you so very much! You are my protecter and my strength. God will lay His Almighty hand upon your body, mind and spirit to heal all that ails you. Put your faith in Him whom nothing is impossible, and you will be able to see what we already see in you!!

Dear Abba,
I pray that You lay Your Almighty healing hand upon my big brother Lord, be with him and let him know that all things are possible through You. Heal his body, his mind and his spirit Lord. Please work through the doctors and nurses that are attending to him right now. May You guide their hands according to Your merciful and healing will Lord. I ask that You grant him all that You are. I know that You alone can deliver him from all that ails him right now. I humbly pray this in Jesus name Amen, Amen

Finally!

Today I am off to the pediatrist! I am praying that God sees fit to use the doctor as His healer. I have been told that my foot isn’t ever going to be “normal” but I will take anything! I am not picky 🙂 Even if I am able to get a few answers I will consider today a success. For those of you who don’t know, we were in a car accident two years ago and my ankle got broken as well as strains, sprains and impact damage. Then I was in a air cast for 10 months, yes 10 months from march to January. I have been left with a limp, picture how a penguin walks, that’s me. Recently I was standing making dinner and my ankle decided it was over it and I was on crutches for two weeks and the cane full time for two weeks, and now if I walk long distances I have to use it or if I am more sore than usual. I miss having a normal foot. You don’t realize just how much you take it for granted, being able to walk, climb stairs even walk up an incline! Soooo hopefully God works His capable hands through this doctor and I receive any amount of healing, or answers. God bless all of you! May the Lord guide you and bless you throughout your day today! If you are observing Ramadan many blessings to you this month!
